 No 8 is privately owned detached ,two bedroom bungalow and sleeps 4/5 persons , double bedroom and a twin room also a full size fold up bed. Both bedrooms have 22" LCD colour freeveiw televisions with built in DVD players. The lounge has a 50" LCD colour freeview television with separate DVD player .Please see accommodation page for more info:. No 8 is located in parkland surrounding Penstowe Manor 30 acres of well kept wooded space to walk or relax in. Penstowe Park is adjacent to the village of Kilkhampton ,although its only a small village, it does have a number of independent shops i.e. couple small grocers, fish &  chip shop ,butchers, tea rooms several churches a new Co-Op and a few pubs some of which serve food and allow dogs and much more., No 8 is Fully equipped with most items needed for a relaxing break, 

The area

Near the border of Cornwall / Devon  makes it an ideal position to tour all of Cornwall and Devon ,on four or 2 wheels,Cornwall & Devon offer many walks.for the less energetics who just want to relax Penstowe area has a lot to offer and plenty of space for children to play safely. The north coast has a great many small beaches along its coast line  to visit and explore There are many attractions designed for  families but if you are into Golf, Fishing or water sports you will find it not far away. Tamar lakes are just a short ride away with it's nature reserve, tea room and wonderful views.

Bude town has many independent shops besides main supermarkets A typical holiday town but not commercialized there are two main beaches at Bude Summerleaze and Crooklets both are ideal for families and the break waters give younger ones a chance to try crabbing and messing in rock pools ,On Summerleaze there is a large swimming pool refreshed by the tide. Both beaches are lifeguard patrolled and have extensive flat sands just what children love. All the beaches along the north coast are great for surfers, In Bude there are several shops stocking surfers gear. Bude also hosts a Jazz festival every year.

The canal in Bude town (by the visitors center) runs down to the sea is now mainly used for boating or fishing, it's well worth a stroll along it's path, and nature reserve ,The canal was constructed in 1823 to carry beach sand to be used as fertilizer  - 20 miles inland to Langston and for exporting local produce..Bude canal, boasts of the only canal lock and sea gate the open ocean in Britain/p>

Widemouth bay is about 4 miles from Bude ,it's the most southerly of Bude beaches. A beautiful long stretch of sand with a large car park choice of cafes, surf shop and toilets. Widemouth is a very popular beach for families,bodyboarders and surfers. For those keen on walking the coast path runs from to widemouth bay
